Work with nature - not against it

When Nik Weis' grandfather, Nicolaus Weis, founded the winery in 1947, he was looking for a suitable name. At that time, he asked the "smartest man" in town, the village priest. The priest advised him to dedicate the winery to St. Urban, because of the special conditions of the winery and to enjoy his protection.

The coat of arms of the Nik Weis winery shows St. Urban with grapes and a wine glass. Surrounded by birds reflecting nature and vine leaves. The lettering "con natura, non invicem" denotes the credo of the winery - work with nature, not against it.
