The vine material of the Immich-Batterieberg ENKIRCHER ELLERGRUB Große Lage Riesling trocken 2022 comes from the site of the same name between Enkirch and Traben-Trarbach. The soil structure here is dominated by eroded blue slate. The site is completely west-facing and the steepest of the entire winery. After the old vines are harvested by hand, they are gently pressed and spontaneously fermented with the vineyard's own yeasts. Aging, as with all of Gernot Kollmann's crus, is done in used wooden barrels - in the case of Ellergrub, even in small wood, with only micro-oxidation allowed and the aroma of the wood playing no role.

Immich Batterieberg
The Immich-Batterieberg wine estate in Enkirch is one of the oldest wine estates in the Moselle. The first mention of the central part of the estate, which is still preserved today, dates back to 908 AD in a document of the last Carolingian king of East Francia, Ludwig IV, who confirmed a handover of the estate to the church.
