Enkircher Zeppwingert Riesling dry 2018
Fine fruit, ripe grapefruit, quince, thyme, very deep, long, for a very long ageing. In the Zeppwingert of Enkirch grow, on dark grey schist, the oldest vines of the estate. The deep roots, which go deep into the soil, produce very firm, masculine and powerful Riesling wines, with a lot of expression and a great capacity for ageing.

The Riesling Zeppwingert - a terroir that surrounds the Batterieberg - comes from a parcel of vines that are more than 100 years old. Let's say it right away: Zeppwingert is one of the greatest dry Rieslings in Germany, with a breathtaking intensity and richness. On the nose, a fine note of flint, slate spices and ripe mirabelle plums. On the palate it is beautifully balanced and supple, with superb fluidity, crisp, salty minerality and grand complexity. At no point tiring, but fresh, pleasant, incredibly rich in extract. Impressive, already very drinkable in its youth, but still pleasing in 25 years.

Immich Batterieberg
The Immich-Batterieberg wine estate in Enkirch is one of the oldest wine estates in the Moselle. The first mention of the central part of the estate, which is still preserved today, dates back to 908 AD in a document of the last Carolingian king of East Francia, Ludwig IV, who confirmed a handover of the estate to the church.
