Nonnengarten Riesling dry 2017
Fine animating fragrance of ripe apricot, orange peel and kumquat, the minerality gives a deep tension. The light yeasty notes give it smoky hints. In the mouth it is slender, despite ripe aromatics, it develops a nice tension with delicate spiciness. Slightly astringent, with juicy acidity and a lingering finish.

The Pündericher Nonnengarten is a vineyard on the right-hand side below the Marienburg. The slopes of the Nonnengarten face southeast, so that they have sun first thing in the morning, but are in the shade earlier in the evening. The soil is predominantly red weathered slate with loamy parts. A special spiciness and earthy components in addition to the typical slate minerality are classic characteristics that distinguish the Rieslings grown here.
