In the southern exposure of the Ayl Kupp, the summit ridge rises 170m above the plain. The lowest part of the slope benefits from centuries of weathering of the higher slate rock. Here the most finely decomposed slate gathers and is available to the vines as an inexhaustible source of minerals and salts. Wines that thrive here on old vines are dense, delicately melting, long-lasting and always a little mineral-salty on the palate.
