Altenberg Riesling Spätlese (late harvest) fruity 2023
Available: June 2023
A wealth of reductive aromas and juicy yellow fruit combine on the palate with hints of wild honey and dried apricots. The dense maturity a fresh acidity with graceful notes of green herbs and candied lemons. Still far too young to show all its treasures, this "small Auslese" already reveals the mysterious, slate-tinged charm of the Altenberg site, both now and for many, many years to come.

Fruit and spice appear in wonderful harmony in this multi-layered Spätlese Riesling. It goes well with strawberries with aged balsamic; poached pears with cinnamon and cloves; perhaps the fresh acidity of a tarte au citron, or the simple elegance of a soufflé with orange marmalade.

Von Othegraven
Günther Jauch has been the owner of the von Othegraven winery since 2010. Günther Jauch is the grandson of Elsa von Othegraven and it was important to him to continue the tradition of the winery. So he brought the well-known oenologist Andreas Barth on board. Andreas Barth is well known and his quality-oriented approach coincides with the ideas of the "new" owner. Thus, in 2011 and 2012, the old style of the winery returned and seamlessly continues the success of old times.
