Goldtröpfchen Grosses Gewächs (Grand Cru) Riesling 2022
Goldtröpfchen GG already shines on the nose with the tropical fruit and cassis notes so familiar from the site, accompanied by herbal-spicy notes such as green tea and mint. On the palate, the exoticism of the site continues with notes of pineapple, passion fruit, ripe mango, pomegranate and black currant. At the same time, due to the weathered slate soil, the wine shows earthy-spicy, almost iodine.

This area of the Goldtröpfchen is not called "Lorelei" without reason and is as scenically impressive as it is ideal for growing Riesling. The soft blue Devonian slate and weathered soil stores the sun's heat and charges up with the rocks during the day like a battery. Due to its proximity to the Moselle River, sunlight reflection is very high, which benefits photosynthesis. All in all, the Goldtröpfchen has a warm microclimate for Moselle conditions, which is strongly influenced by the river and slate and favors the formation of fruit aromas in Riesling

Nik Weis - St. Urbans Hof
The St. Urbanshof wine estate has its roots in one of the most beautiful sunny locations on the Moselle: an elegant loop of the river follows the course of the sun along the gently sloping vineyards, where the wine estate was built and founded in 1947 by Nicolaus Weis under the name "St. Urbans-Hof" on an enchanting hill. Since 1997, Nik Weis, the third generation, has been running the estate on an area of around 35 hectares, from which he produces refined delicacies, specialising in Riesling.
