Manual harvest on 19. October 2020 | very steep and very warm south to south-east exposure | protected from the wind by a large rock slope (former quarry), strong sun reflection due to direct Moselle exposure | lots of blue and grey slate | 50- 120 year old vineyards | high planting density (9000 vines per ha) | cool nights bring the "Burger Bach" | partly terraced | single pole training and wire frames | harvest in 30 litre crates | 100% clean grapes | low yields (40hl per ha) | 4 hours maceration | slow pneumatic pressing | 15 hours sedimentation | quite cloudy must filled into 1000 litre stainless steel tanks | aged spontaneously on the full lees for 9 months | without bâtonnage | further 9 months with the fine lees into the barrel | sulphured shortly before bottling | bottled unfiltered end of March 2023.
