Immich Batterieberg

Trabener Zollturm Riesling Spätlese (late harvest) 2018

Very fine silk, complex, very discreet sweetness (rather finely grassy than noble), mirabelle plum, very ripe pear, mint, tightly woven. Already fun and for eternity.

How to Take Clothing Measurements

  1. Get a flexible measuring tape. These are often sold in craft stores
  2. Neck:
    • Measure around the base of the neck in inches.

  3. Chest:
    • Wrap tape measure under armpits around fullest part of chest (usually right above nipples
  4. Sleeve:
    • Bend your elbow and rest your hand on your hip.
    • Have someone measure from the middle of the back of your neck to your wrist by putting the tape measure over your shoulder, around your elbow and to your wrist.
  5. Waist:
    • Wrap tape measure around where you normally wear your pants. Keep tape measure a little loose by keeping a finger between the tape measure and your waist.
  6. Inseam:
    • Put on a pair of shoes.Have someone measure from your crotch to back of the heel, where you want your pants to end.
  7. Hands:

The vines of the Immich-Batterieberg TRABENER ZOLLTURM Große Lage date back to the 1930s. The southernmost site of the winery has a steep western exposure and gray slate and quartzite in the soil. The old vines are cultivated in classic Moselle stake training and produce low yields with the best qualities. The name comes from a customs tower whose ruins can still be seen. From here the Moselle barges were stopped with a taut chain and the road toll was collected. The site is harvested exclusively selectively by hand. Fermentation is spontaneous with the winery's own yeasts and aging in small used wooden barrels.
The name comes from a customs tower whose ruins still stand in the site. From here a chain was stretched across the Moselle and customs were collected from ships. It is the southernmost site of the winery, and here the Rieslings turn out a bit more opulent - but still have that elegance inherent in the entire collection. Yellow-fruited nose with subtle spice. On the palate crystal clear and very dense with moderate alcohol. One of the most beautiful Mosel Rieslings of the 2016 vintage with a small touch of residual sweetness. Great storage potential!

Immich Batterieberg

The Immich-Batterieberg wine estate in Enkirch is one of the oldest wine estates in the Moselle. The first mention of the central part of the estate, which is still preserved today, dates back to 908 AD in a document of the last Carolingian king of East Francia, Ludwig IV, who confirmed a handover of the estate to the church.
