Dhron Hofberger Riesling dry 2021
A mineral Riesling with notes of mint, citrus and white tea. The restrained acidity allows the wine to finish very delicately.A strong counterpart to spicy dishes, e.g. crispy roast duck, guinea fowl or game.
James Suckling
“(…) comes from a small plot planted with 50-year-old vines still trained on single pole and was fermented and aged in a traditional Fuder.(…) The wine has quite some presence and intensity on the palate, where it remains on the smoky and herbal side. (…)

This excellent Riesling comes from the Dhroner Hofberg Moselle vineyard, which is located on a steep southern slope along the Dhron river. The subsoil is characterised by copper-brown, slightly grey slate with quartzite and has a high iron content. The small, loose-grained grapes were very strictly selected during the harvest and allowed to ferment for 12 months. Already in the powerful bouquet, a full basket of tropical fruits such as mango and passion fruit unfolds, complemented by cherry aromas. Rich in extract and lush on the palate, it is able to fill the whole mouth with juicy, mineral and spicy flavours, yet remains elegant and does not become expansive. A sensual, lush experience.
