Kaseler Nies'chen Riesling Kabinett fruity Old Vines 2020
The Kabinett from the old vines attracts more with gentle restraint than demonstrative aromatics. The fruit is discreet with hints of peach and gooseberry, a touch of icing sugar encourages sweet expectations. On the palate, a creamy orange mousse is ingratiating, the taste of grated citrus peel adds a spicy nuance, and icing of the finest kind provides a seductive finish.

The top vineyard Kaseler Nies'chen combines all the qualities appreciated by the Riesling diva in an optimal location:
The south to southwest facing steep slope of barren Devonian slate soil with hard brown to blue slate slabs with a slope inclination of up to 60%. Old, rootless Riesling vines still stand here, some of which were planted over 100 years ago. The old vines only produce low yields - a maximum of 5,000 to 6,000 litres per hectare - but typical Ruwer Rieslings with elegance and finesse, with aroma and minerality, coupled with fine fruit acidity and imaginative length.
