Mehringer Alte Reben (old grapes) Riesling dry 2022
Grown on blue slate, the dry Mehringer Alte Reben presents itself as a powerful yet elegant local wine with a spicy bouquet. In particular, the herbaceous and spicy nose, reminiscent of wet slate or the air after a thunderstorm, is an authentic feature of its origin.

Our dry VDP.Ortswein comes from the Mehringer Blattenberg on the Mosel. "Blattenberg" comes from the Latin name abbate plantate, which translates into German as Abtspflanzung. No surprise, because the vineyards of the steep slope were owned by Prüm Abbey in the Middle Ages. In them grew the best and thus exclusively for the abbot. The particular microclimate is strongly influenced by the immediate proximity to the Moselle River, which, together with the slate soil, has a decisive influence on the thermal balance of the vineyard.

Nik Weis - St. Urbans Hof
The St. Urbanshof wine estate has its roots in one of the most beautiful sunny locations on the Moselle: an elegant loop of the river follows the course of the sun along the gently sloping vineyards, where the wine estate was built and founded in 1947 by Nicolaus Weis under the name "St. Urbans-Hof" on an enchanting hill. Since 1997, Nik Weis, the third generation, has been running the estate on an area of around 35 hectares, from which he produces refined delicacies, specialising in Riesling.
