In 1900, top Bordeaux and Burgundy wines Chablis or Yquem were almost unaffordable. For Saar wines, however, the guest had to put even double or triple on the table. These were the most expensive wines in the world. The vines of the Schonfels cliff (110 years old) high above the Saar River date from this time. Only a few liters of concentrated essence give here the vines, ambassadors of a long forgotten time, still price today. This corresponds to the mini harvests of the turn of the century.
