Saarburger Kupp Riesling 2020 Grosses Gewächs (Grand Cru)In stock
The aromas of fresh citrus fruits unfold somewhat shyly in the glass at first, but if you give this great Riesling some oxygen, aromas of lime, yellow grapefruit and orange unfold in all their glory and flow out of the glass together with hints of delicate herbal aromas and something spicy like white pepper. On the palate, the Grand Cru Kupp GG is very precise and clear. The characteristic Saar acidity is steely and powerful.

In 2020, a Grand Cru from the Saarburger Kupp vineyard was vinified from the finest selected grapes from the best vines. This Saar Riesling is wonderfully fresh, mineral, crisp dry and yet animatingly juicy - this is how a great dry Saar wine should taste according to our philosophy.
The Grand Cru from the Saarburger Kupp - a premiere, by the way - may like to mature a little more to unfold its full potential - but is already a real palate pleaser!

Dr. Wagner
For 5 generations, the Wagner family has been cultivating the best slate steep slopes of the Saar in painstaking manual labour, as in the days of the founders. Steep slopes, old Riesling vines in traditional single-pole training, manual work in the vineyard, gentle, selective, manual harvesting, maturation in traditional wooden barrels - the Fuder - at 100% - the quality of the wines proves that they are right.
