Graacher Domprobst Riesling selection * (Auslese *) noble sweet 2003
Already on the nose you discover the caramel and vanilla notes. Mature but still young wine that will still be a lot of fun for the next 10 years. The sweet-acid play is well balanced and the now balanced wine shows dried fruit flavors. Still great storage potential. Gold at the Berlin Wine Trophy 2018

The nose suggests that the wine has already been aged in the bottle for several years. Very, very ripe fruit & a hint of petrol. On the palate, however, almost still youthful. Amazing melting, which makes the finish extremely long. Great wine experience. Still has potential to develop further despite being almost 20 years old.

Good pairing with main dishes with creamy sauce; good pairing with desserts with prominent acidity; a wine to spend an evening with.
Relatively warm winter with normal rainfall, budding already at the beginning of April, warm May and June, fast and rapid flowering, beginning of July with extremely hot and dry weather, the old vines coped excellently with this stress situation, danger of infection for Botrytis very low due to the dryness, therefore the last spraying was completely omitted. Harvesting began at the beginning of October (earlier than ever before), and there was hardly any rainfall during the harvest,
Overall assessment: vintage of the century
