Enkircher Ellergrub Riesling dry 2018
A dense, compact and full-bodied wine that smells intensely of herbs, smoky notes, wet stones, yellow apple and apricots. Concentrated and gripping on the palate, in perfect balance of subtle, light sweetness with highly ripe acidity pleases the varied, multilayered play of flavors. Charming, round, soft and very complex the fascinating long finish. Herbs, smoke, verbena and apple skin on the nose, stone fruit in the background. Starts juicy on the palate with sweet fruit, the acidity is soft and supple, relatively leanly built, good extract, phenolic entry, mineral, good potential.

The extremely steep terroir of Enkircher Ellergrub, with its high percentage of blue slate, probably produces the winery's most subtle, refined and elegant Riesling. The vintage of Immich-Batterieberg ENKIRCHER ELLERGRUB Große Lage Riesling comes from the eponymous site between Enkirch and Traben-Trarbach. The soil here is dominated by eroded blue slate. The site is entirely west-facing and the steepest of the entire estate. After the old vines are harvested by hand, they are gently pressed and spontaneously fermented with the vineyard's own yeasts. Aging, as with all of Gernot Kollmann's crus, takes place in used wooden barrels - in the case of Ellergrub even in small wood, where only micro-oxidation is allowed and the aroma of the wood plays no role.

Immich Batterieberg
The Immich-Batterieberg wine estate in Enkirch is one of the oldest wine estates in the Moselle. The first mention of the central part of the estate, which is still preserved today, dates back to 908 AD in a document of the last Carolingian king of East Francia, Ludwig IV, who confirmed a handover of the estate to the church.
