Enkircher Ellergrub Riesling dry 2019
Immich-Batterieberg's 2019 Ellergrub Dry Riesling reveals itself in a deep straw yellow color. The nose reveals a dense network of yellow stone fruit, pome fruit compote, spice and balsamic notes. The acidic texture is fine, very harmonious and contributes to the elegant impression of Ellergrub. It is precisely in its youth that the wine should be left to air for an hour in a decanter and then enjoyed fresh with gently cooked noble fish or poached veal.
Robert Parker (Stephan Reinhardt) 94PP:
From 80+-year-old vines on finely weathered blue slate soils, the 2019 Enkircher Ellergrub Riesling is beautifully precise and flinty on the elegant and herbal nose that reveals crystalline, perfectly ripe and concentrated fruit. Bottled with 13 grams of

The extremely steep terroir of Enkircher Ellergrub, with its high proportion of blue shale, produces probably the most subtle, fine and elegant Riesling of the estate. It is also our personal favorite of the 2019 vintage. Apricots, passion fruit and a hint of kumquat rise to the nose, with fine ginger and lemongrass notes rounding out the picture. On the palate, a "full-bodied" wine with incredible concentration and almost perfect harmony. It is among the best dry Rieslings of the vintage in Germany.
The vine material of the Immich-Batterieberg ENKIRCHER ELLERGRUB Große Lage Riesling trocken 2020 comes from the site of the same name between Enkirch and Traben-Trarbach. The soil structure here is dominated by eroded blue slate. The site is completely west-facing and the steepest of the entire winery. After the old vines are harvested by hand, they are gently pressed and spontaneously fermented with the vineyard's own yeasts. Aging, as with all of Gernot Kollmann's crus, is done in used wooden barrels - in the case of Ellergrub, even in small wood, with only micro-oxidation allowed and the aroma of the wood playing no role.

Immich Batterieberg
The Immich-Batterieberg wine estate in Enkirch is one of the oldest wine estates in the Moselle. The first mention of the central part of the estate, which is still preserved today, dates back to 908 AD in a document of the last Carolingian king of East Francia, Ludwig IV, who confirmed a handover of the estate to the church.
