Pinot Noir is a red wine variety that produces particularly elegant wines, especially in cooler climates like that of the Moselle. For Nik Weis, his Pinot Noirs are an expression of a typical Mosel character. Not only the fruit alone is in the foreground, but also the savory, salty minerality that makes you want to take the next sip. For his idea of a perfect Mosel Pinot Noir, Nik Weis was able to purchase, among other things, one of the oldest Pinot Noir plantations on the Mosel at all. There he produces the perfect grapes in harmony with nature and a holistic and sustainable viticultural philosophy.
Low yields and selective hand harvesting are as much a matter of course as submerging the berry skins by hand. Subsequently, the wine matures in French oak barrels with a volume of 500l

Nik Weis - St. Urbans Hof
The St. Urbanshof wine estate has its roots in one of the most beautiful sunny locations on the Moselle: an elegant loop of the river follows the course of the sun along the gently sloping vineyards, where the wine estate was built and founded in 1947 by Nicolaus Weis under the name "St. Urbans-Hof" on an enchanting hill. Since 1997, Nik Weis, the third generation, has been running the estate on an area of around 35 hectares, from which he produces refined delicacies, specialising in Riesling.
